Menu Substitutions

We don’t mind making dishes to order! All meats can be substituted for seitan or tofu, which greatly expands our vegetarian menu, but as noted by the author of Vegan Grand Rapids, it’s not mentioned on our menu.

Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese dishes all make up the large menu, but was it true that anything could be made vegan?  We asked our server and he sent over the co-owner and cook.  She said we could order anything and she would use seitan – though there is no indication of it by looking at the menu.

New menus are currently in the development stages and we will make this more obvious for customers. We’re also removing unpopular dishes and adding more vegetarian, Thai, and Vietnamese dinners.

..I honestly believe the only decent chinese pickup restaurant left in Grand Rapids is Lai Thai Kitchen (the old Kim Kim)

Review in the Grand Rapids Press

Hopefully something like this would clear up the fact that we are definitely new owners. This was not just a name change. In the article they had some really nice things to say about what we’re doing at the restaurant and the food we cook:

I’d almost given up on satay skewers since they’re so often overcooked, but we were so glad we gave them one more try. Lai Thai’s are the most tender we’ve ever had, zesty with curry rub that pairs perfectly with the house-made peanut butter sauce with ground peanut sprinkled on top.

Despite getting Nguyen wrong, we thank them for stopping by and writing up a thorough review of their visit.
